PDHJ RAEOA Delegation Raises Awareness on Human Rights and Good Governance in Bene-Ufe Village

RAEOA, 10 June 2025 — The Ombudsman for Human Rights and Justice (PDHJ) RAEOA Territorial Delegation, led by Director Domingas da Paixão Kefi and accompanied by the Promotion Officer, Complaint Receiving Officer, and Investigator, conducted an information dissemination session for communities and village authorities in Bitila and Naktuka, Bene-Ufe Village, Nitibe Administrative Post.

The session aimed to raise awareness about the role of PDHJ, key human rights principles, good governance standards, and the complaint process.

At the opening of the session, Village Chief Marcos Meni welcomed the PDHJ team and expressed appreciation for bringing this initiative to the community. He encouraged participants to take full advantage of the discussion to strengthen their understanding of their rights and responsibilities and to apply these in daily life.

During the discussion, community members shared their concerns and called on PDHJ to recommend that the Government, through the relevant ministries, improve monitoring and accountability for programs implemented in the village — particularly in health, education, and agriculture.

The session was held at Manan Village Headquarters on Tuesday, 10 June 2025. As part of its mission, the Ombudsman’s Office continues to make efforts to raise awareness among communities and local authorities, with the aim that the more people understand PDHJ’s role, human rights, and principles of good governance, the more they will help prevent violations — and when rights are violated, people will not remain silent but will be encouraged to file complaints and seek justice.
