The PDHJ Socialized Its Roles to the Leaders and Public Employees of the Ministry of Public Works, Transports and Telecommunications

Dili- The Provedoria for Human Rights and Justice through its National Directorate for Good-Governance – Department of Promotion and Education, on 16 March 2015, conducted a socialization session about the PDHJ’s roles to the Leaders and Public Employees of the Ministry of Public Works, Transports and Communications (MOPTC) at the meeting room of the Ministry of Public Works, Transports and Communications in Caicoli-Dili.

The Ad-interim Provedora, Ms. Jesuina M.F. Gomes, MPA, at the opening session addressed that the objective of this activity was to share information on the basic principles of good-governance. Ms. Jesuina added that, in accordance with the law, the PDHJ Institution has an important role to control the work of all public employees so, if there were things in the public administration working against the applicable law, there is a need of collaboration to fix them.

Ms. Jesuina maintained encouraging everybody, including every civil employee that the door of the PDHJ is open for every citizen, including the civil employees, to file their complaints whenever they feel their rights are violated by any public entity.

During the socialization session, the Director of Human Rights Directorate, Mr. Valerio Magno Ximenes, explained about the principles of human rights, the Chief of Complaints Reception,  Ms. Josefa Soares explained about the process of filing complaints to the PDHJ while the Officer for Recommendations Follow-up, Ms. Francelina Tilman, explained about the processes of following-up the recommendations sent by the PDHJ to the relevant Ministries.

This socialization activity was undertaken through cooperation between the PDHJ and the Ministry of Public Works, Transports and Telecommunications (MOPTC).
