Dili, 12 August 2024 — Ombudsman for Human Rights and Justice Virgílio da Silva Guterres ‘Lamukan’ attended the launch of the Matadalan Survey & Research Institute’s (M-SRI) 2024 survey, which focuses on public satisfaction with the IX Constitutional Government’s performance from July 2023 to July 2024. The survey aims to support the government in shaping development policies and making informed decisions that serve the public interest.
The survey, conducted across 12 municipalities including the Oé-Cusse Ambeno Special Administrative Region (RAEOA), assessed 12 priority ministries. Results indicated that 57% of respondents were satisfied with the government’s performance, 38% were dissatisfied, and 4.5% did not respond.
The Ombudsman emphasized the critical role of evidence-based research in fostering good governance and upholding human rights.
